ART / FASHION GALLERY
Fashion and contemporary art express a lot about today and tomorrow. They have the sensory aspect in common, and their relationship is part of a long love story and comes in many nuances.
It is because art and fashion “intertwine” that fashion designers have often collaborated with artists by establishing correspondences. Fashion has a rich and powerful visual language, which pushes its boundaries of creativity, and art is one of its main intersections.
Many paintings, sculptures, drawings, photographs are created on themes in line with fashion whose primary goal is seduction, which demonstrates the relationship between art and fashion.
Contemporary art also targets younger generations: a more connected and more curious audience.
Fashion designers and artists, “transmitters/receivers of their time” observe the world and, more precisely, technological, sociological and economic innovations, draw their ideas from it, and establish the universality of inspiration.
It is at the crossroads of:
- Baroque art (specificity of Western art) which is the art of seduction, of profusion, of the vestige having the culture of the image),
- And Japanese Zen minimalism, from Shinto aesthetics (subtraction and silence, taste for fragile beauty and incompleteness, for refined forms and an aptitude for inner illumination and letting go),
that an aesthetic is invented and that Alain Lalou situates his creations.
To illustrate the intertwining between art and fashion, Alain Lalou worked on the following themes which will soon appear on this page :
- Unfinished
- Resonances
- Makes and losses
- Dressed and undressed
- Re-contextualization (historical part and current affairs part)
- Diversions
- Hopscotch
- Art and Fashion pinned words.
- The real and the virtual (mask games)
