Alain Lalou
ALAIN LALOU
“Each writer creates his own precursors. Their work modifies our conception of the past as it will modify the future”.
(Jose Luis Borgues)
We can replace writer by fashion designer.
After many successes as fashion creator:
- In France, Italy and Spain, as free lance stylist he designs numerous collections for many fashion companies, and organizations such as:
- Fabrics for The Woolmark, the organization for wool promotion,
- Jewelry for the Jewellery Federation Bijhorca,
- Tennis wear for Adidas,
- Numerous fashion and fabrics companies
- In Japan : license contracts with the Department Stores ‘Daimaru’. More than fifty ‘Alain Lalou’ corner stores were opened over Japan, for womenswear, menswear, children’s wear and handbags.
- In the US, his wedding collection was exhibited at Lalique US stores (one of the most prestigious French crystal factory brand), and sold at Saks Fifth Avenue department stores, in many American cities (New York, Houston, Atlanta, Beverly Hills, Ball Harbour…). One of his creations was on the flag emblem to represent the main luxury event in New York in 2003 organized by Vogue Conde Nast: «The Wedding March on Madison ».
Alain Lalou has dressed queens and princesses, actresses, and women of power.
His garments, full of seduction and mystery invite us to decipher them. Traces of influent artwork (books, arts…) are sometimes perceived in his creations.
Alain Lalou has naturally expanded his activities to various domains of fashion such as learning with a demand for excellence.
His multicultural approach and his lecturing skills (about creation processes and marketing evolutions to over 50 universities, mainly American) have made him embrace many areas of creation.
Multilingual and cosmopolitan, he examines his time and turns today’s world into creation matter.
